I was thrilled to talk at the Festival of Female Entrepreneurs yesterday in Bristol as part of a panel discussing ‘How to turn a blog into a business.’
We discussed how a little blog I started in 2008, to enable people with stories they wanted to share with the media to contact me (at the time I was working as a freelance journalist) turned into the UK’s leading online news agency Talk to the Press, a business that employed people, provided thousands of stories to the national media and one which I was able to sell to a large news group last year.
During yesterday’s panel session, we covered everything from the multitude of different ways to monetise a blog (and most of them are not on the blog itself), how to create content for a blog, blogging for authority, to demonstrate expertise and thought leadership and how often to post on a blog. Below are some of the tweets sent during and after the talk.
